"Charming" Musical Animatic - Beat Boards/Roughs/Exploration
A new project I'm working on based on a sequence from the musical "Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812." (based on characters and story from "War and Peace" by Tolstoy). In this sequence, Helene, a bored 18th century Russian noblewoman and known adulterer, convinces young Natasha to cheat on her absent soldier fiancee by dancing at the ball with Helene's brother Anatole.
I'm a historical fiction/period piece fan, so this historical project has been fun to develop so far! I also love musicals, and in particular, villain songs/villainous characters. Helene played by Amber Gray has such a unique and expressive sound, and is such a classic, campy villain. In this sequence, I'm going to explore how Helene manipulates Natasha with insincere flattery, pulling her strings like a puppet.

A couple gets lost while driving back to their campsite, and decides to check into a creepy hotel at the last minute.
